What counts as a trending brand mention on Instagram?
Each row is a single post, not a brand. That is the whole design. Tracking every post that mentions a brand is not possible at any price, and a tool that claims complete coverage of Instagram is claiming something nobody can deliver. Ranking the posts we did find is a promise we can keep.
We look every day for posts naming the brands we cover, and then follow each one we find. A post's growth is the difference between two readings of it rather than an estimate.
Ranking is by engagement gained over the window, so a post that has been sitting at a million likes for a year does not own the top row forever. A post we have only read once shows new instead of a growth figure. There is no second reading to compare it against, and inventing one would put every freshly-found post at the top of a chart about climbing.
How to filter trending mentions by category
The category filter narrows the board to one aisle, so you can read beauty without fashion in the way, or food without either.
Sorting by 24-hour gain surfaces what moved overnight; sorting by growth rate favours small posts climbing fast over large ones inching. Filtering to reels or to photos separates two formats that do not earn engagement at the same rate and are misleading ranked against each other.
What brand monitoring teams use this board for
Seeing which creators are driving conversation in your category before they are obvious, which posts are still climbing rather than already-peaked, and whether a competitor is having a week. Each row links to the original post and to that brand's monitoring page.
This board covers the largest brands. To watch a specific brand on every keyword, with mentions emailed as they are found, subscribe to it, $49/year per brand. Pricing →
Trending Instagram mentions FAQs
What are trending brand mentions on Instagram?
A brand mention is a public Instagram post by someone other than the brand that names or tags it. Trending ones are the mentions gaining engagement fastest right now rather than the ones with the highest totals, which is a different list: a post at a million likes for a year is popular, not trending.
How often does this board update?
Daily. We look for new posts naming the brands we cover every day, and follow each one we find from then on, so a post’s growth is the difference between two readings of it rather than an estimate.
Why is each row a post instead of a brand?
Because tracking every post that mentions a brand is not possible at any price, and a tool claiming complete Instagram coverage is claiming something nobody can deliver. Ranking the posts we did find is a promise that can be kept, and it is more useful anyway: you can open the actual post and see the creator behind it.
How do I find trending mentions of my own brand?
This board covers the largest brands in the catalogue. Subscribing to a specific brand puts it under daily collection on every keyword you choose, with mentions emailed as they are found, at $49/year per brand.
Does it track Instagram reels as well as photos?
Both, and they can be separated. Reels and photo posts do not earn engagement at the same rate, so a mixed ranking flatters one format; the format filter splits them.
What does the “new” label mean on a post?
That the post has been read once, so there is no earlier reading to measure growth against. It is shown as new rather than as zero growth, because not watched long enough is not the same as did not grow.
