Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Monitor Mentions. Plain English, because terms nobody can read protect nobody.

Last updated 17 August 2026

1. Who we are and what this covers

Monitor Mentions (“we”, “us”) operates monitormentions.com and everything served from it: the public brand pages, comparisons, the developer API, and the paid tracking plans. Using any part of the site means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.

2. What the free part gives you

Every one of the 855 brands we track has a public page you can read without an account, a card, or a login, alongside category pages, head-to-head comparisons and a glossary. We intend to keep those pages free, but we do not promise any particular page will exist forever. Brands get added, merged and retired as the catalogue changes.

3. What a paid plan gives you

A paid plan covers the specific brands you choose. It adds daily snapshots (which is what unlocks the follower trendline), mention collection on a schedule, AI-assistant visibility checks, and email alerts. Tracking starts when your payment clears, and history is recorded from that moment forward. We do not backfill history from before you subscribed, and we do not estimate it.

Annual is $49 per brand per year and renews until you cancel. Lifetime is $79 per brand, paid once, for as long as the service exists. Prices are in US dollars and are shown in full on the pricing page before you pay.

4. Billing, cancellation and refunds

Payments are handled by Stripe. Annual plans renew automatically on their anniversary; cancel any time before then and you will not be charged again, keeping access until the period you already paid for ends. We do not send partial-period refunds for time you did not use.

If something is broken on our side, and the data never arrived or the alerts never fired, email us and we will refund you. That is a commitment we actually keep, not a clause designed to be unreachable.

If Monitor Mentions shuts down, lifetime plan holders will be given notice and an export of the history recorded for their brands. A “lifetime” plan means the lifetime of the product, which we would rather say here than have you discover later.

5. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • Scrape, mirror, or bulk-download the site. Ask us instead: there is usually a better answer than a crawler, and we would rather hear what you are trying to build.
  • Use the site to harass anyone, or to build a profile of a private individual. We publish figures about brand accounts, not about people.
  • Attempt to defeat rate limits, authentication, or the paywall on tracked-brand data.

We may suspend an account that does any of these, and will say why when we do.

6. The data, and what we promise about it

Figures come from public Instagram data via a third-party provider, read at a moment in time and stored with the timestamp they were taken. Nothing is seeded, estimated, or modelled. Where we have not measured something, the page shows a dash.

What we cannot promise is that an upstream source is complete or correct. Instagram changes what it exposes and providers have outages. Treat what you read here as a measurement, not a legal record. The site is provided “as is”, and we are not liable for decisions made on the basis of a figure that turned out to be wrong.

Corrections are welcome and acted on. A wrong handle or a brand in the wrong category is worth an email.

7. Your content and our content

The pages, copy, rankings methodology and the design of this site are ours. The underlying facts, such as a follower count or an engagement rate, are not ownable and you are free to cite them; a link back is appreciated rather than required.

Anything you give us, such as a brand website or a logo you upload in the console, stays yours. You give us permission to display it on that brand's page, and nothing more.

8. Affiliation and trademarks

Monitor Mentions is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram, Meta, or any brand shown on this site. We are an independent measurement tool.

Brand names, logos and Instagram handles belong to their respective owners and appear here to identify the accounts being measured. That is a reference, not a claim of association. If you own a brand and want its page corrected, or removed, email us and we will handle it.

9. Changes and termination

We may change these terms. If a change matters to pricing, to what a plan includes, or to how your data is handled, we will email active customers rather than quietly editing this page. The date at the top always reflects the last change.

You can stop using the site at any time. We can suspend access for a breach of section 5, or if a payment fails and is not resolved.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any dispute will be brought in the courts of the jurisdiction where Monitor Mentions is operated. If any clause here turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.

11. Contact

Questions about these terms, a refund, or a correction: hello@monitormentions.com. A real person reads it.
