How often an account publishes, usually expressed as posts per week.
Cadence is the input most under a brand's control and the one most often mistaken for a strategy. Posting more raises total reach and lowers per-post engagement, roughly in proportion, so the choice is about what you are optimising rather than about a correct number.
The useful comparison is against your own category: consistency relative to peers matters more than any absolute frequency.
How we calculate it
We store each account's total post count with every reading, so cadence is the difference between readings rather than an estimate.
